Screen Suffolk / Ref: 13312
One of England’s finest Tudor houses, developed in stages between about 1500 and 1578. To reach Kentwell you will drive 3/4 mile along an avenue of Lime trees. The house is fully moated and reached by two original bridges. It's not a stately home but a very much lived-in and loved family home. It is also a project - for 35 years now, a non-stop effort to save this beautiful house, re-create its gardens and form a traditional style farm with rare breeds. The gardens at Kentwell Hall are a combination of ancient features, landscaping and planting where everything is totally organic. The gardens include the main front lawns with a wildlife pond, The Walled Garden with a maze of Lavender and a wonderful range of herbs, also has in excess of 60 different varieties of Apple and Pear trees. The immediate gardens and grounds extend to approx 30 acres.
