Martello Tower P is one of a few of the 103 towers that are in an original condition. Built between 1805 and 1812 to resist a potential invasion by Napoleon. It is built of brick, 13 foot thick on the seaward side, and stands about 30 foot high and were equipped with a cannon on the roof. Inside shows original features and is ready to be dressed. The roof has a building operated by National Coastline Watch which is also available for consideration.
